Ethanol: Also known as bioethanol, is a biofuel that is traditionally produced from the fermentation of starch or sugar crops such as corn, sugar beet or sugar cane. Ethanol can also be produced from other feedstocks such as agricultural residues and biomass crops such as switchgrass. This is known as second generation or cellulosic ethanol. Ethanol can be blended with petroleum for use in vehicles.
